YOUNG CARERS PROJECT MANAGER (Full-time)

£28000 pa 1 year contract initially (renewable subject to funding)

An exciting new opportunity in this newly created post working, full time on our Young Carers Project providing support to 5-18 year olds with caring responsibilities.   The Project helps Young Carers in school or college, provides one to one support, activities and outings,

Managing the Young Carers Support Officers and working as a team to deliver a quality young carers service, the successful candidate will be enthusiastic, energetic and committed individual.  The right candidate will ideally have some experience of working with children and young people, knowledge of Young Carers and have some experience of managing staff.

The role will involve: line management, delivering presentations to teaching staff and students, monitoring and reporting on the project outcomes and working alongside other professionals to identify and support young carers. See below for more essential skills.

CARERS ASSESSMENT OFFICER (Full-time)

£26000 pa Essential Car User

Enfield Carers Centre has been awarded Trusted Assessor Status by Enfield Council and needs to recruit a third Officer to complete assessments, reviews and support plans via home visits and office appointments.   Candidates will possess good presentation skills as they’ll deliver presentations in a variety of settings to other professionals in the Health and Social Care Sector.

The role will involve daily face to face and telephone contact with carers.  Candidates will need excellent IT and organisational skills.  Home visiting is an integral part of the role and the successful candidate will have an empathetic understanding of carers’ needs as well as excellent communication skills.  See below for more essential skills.

 

CARERS SUPPORT OFFICER Part-time 3 days (21hours per wk)

£24000 pa Essential Car User

Enfield Carers Centre is recruiting a part-time Carers Support Officer to join our dedicated staff team. Candidates need knowledge of carers’ needs, an empathetic attitude and experience of supporting individuals in the health and social care sector.  This post liaises with carers on a daily basis and facilitating support groups is a key part of this role.  Excellent IT and organisational skills are also crucial as is an ability to juggle work and time priorities. Essential skills for all vacancies

Report writing & excellent communication skills are essential; knowledge of carer & disability-related legislation; 3yrs min. work experience in health & social care sector; commitment to equal opps; an awareness of issues affecting a multi-cultural community; understanding of relationships between the Council, Health Authority and the 3rd sector as well as a commitment to the needs of carers. You’ll need to be an approachable, professional, flexible individual who can deal tactfully and sensitively with others, manage a demanding workload, and be a good team player.
  • Based at Enfield Carers Centre and working from satellite locations throughout the borough.
  • Working days are Mon-Fri 9am-5pm, although occasional evening and weekend working is included for which Time Off In Lieu (TOIL) will be given.
  • Offers subject to a satisfactory, enhanced CRB/DBS check
  • Applicants must have a car and a full driving licence. NB. The successful applicant will have to declare business use on their car insurance policy.

All posts at the Centre are subject to contract funding (ends 2020) with possible extensions.

Enfield Carers Centre (ECC) is a charity which supports family/unpaid carers and aims to improve their quality of life.  The charity was formed in 2010 and provides a range of services such as support groups, counselling, training, carers assessments, benefits advice and carers breaks.

One of our aims is to ensure that Carers enjoy a life outside caring and don’t fall into financial hardship.
